Enjoyable but best to speak French or Italian
5/5 • 2025/05/26Beautiful location and friendly and helpful staff. As other reviewers have said, it’s worth noting that staff do not generally speak English at this resort as Club Med is a French company. My husband and I made do (as neither of us speak French or Italian) but more than once had to use Google translate.
Something I haven’t seen anyone else mention is that the resort provides a great variety of gluten free options at each meal. Allergens were listed for most items at the buffet and the staff were all educated about allergies. This was a very nice touch for me personally. In general there was a great variety of food available for every meal.
The resort is waking distance from the historic town of Cefalu but you need to be quite physically fit to make the trip as it is about 30 min walk. However it is a scenic and enjoyable walk along a beach. Within Cefalu you can find transport links to the rest of the island.
There is a supermarket which is much closer if you don’t feel up to the walk but would like to buy (edible) gifts. It has an okay selection but not as good as within the town.
Unfortunately the Club Med gift shops do not stock any local curios or souvenirs, just some name brand items and a few 45 t-shirts.
In terms of the facilities on the resort itself, the main swimming pool is quite small and the zen one is natural water and also requires you to shower off your sunscreen before you swim in it, so this isn’t really a resort for swimming. But in terms of sunbathing while looking at beautiful surrounds you can’t beat it - the beach bar was a particularly lovely location for this.
As for activities, again these are in French so bear that in mind if they matter to you.
