Great food, lots to do — but only if you’re fluent in French!

4/54/5 • 2025/07/05

We had a really enjoyable stay at Club Med Marrakech overall. The food was incredible — fresh, varied, and delicious — and there are so many activities on offer, from golf to yoga to daily dancing. The grounds are beautiful and the atmosphere is lively and fun.

Big credit to the tennis team — they were especially very good, professional, and helpful.

However, this place is best suited to French speakers. Pretty much everything defaults to French — all the classes, instructions, and group activities — and it’s often not checked if there are any English speakers. When you ask for translations, some staff can’t speak English at all and others choose not to. A few who did translate were helpful, but I had to keep reminding them to translate instructions properly (which was frustrating, especially when trying to learn golf).

Most of the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the daily dancing — with the manager and team all taking part — definitely keeps the vibe energetic (though it might not be everyone’s thing). Only exception was the archery team, who were particularly miserable compared to everyone else.

Overall, it’s a lovely place with great food and activities — but I’d only recommend it if you’re fluent in French or French yourself. Otherwise, you’ll likely struggle with language barriers and it really does affect the holiday experience.

Lovely place, sub-optimal experience for non-French speakers

4/54/5 • 2025/07/03

The hotel is lovely and we stayed in the exclusive collection part, ‘la road’ where the staff were very accomodating, particularly Ayoub behind the bar who helped make our children feel welcome and Samir at poolside who is an extremely nice chap and very attentive. There were multiple activities during the day on offer but these poorly accommodated for non-French speakers as most of the instructors seemed to only speak French. As a non-French speaker this made the activities inaccessible.

The club mini was a godsend and the staff there were fun and brilliant - particularly Mouna, Aminata and Yoyo who made our girls feel welcome and have a good time despite not speaking French.

One issue we did have was with misleading and very expensive laundry costs, particularly for toddler’s clothes and I would recommend avoiding this. The reception staff were unable to ‘fight our corner’ in explaining the injustice to negotiate money off which was disappointing. The watsapp system for raising queries was hit and miss, several times the reception staff needed reminding of requests (e.g. to treat the room for mosquitos). Take plenty of mosquito repellent!

Incredible time in Marrakech

5/55/5 • 2025/07/01

Great two weeks in Marrakech and the GOs at the resort have been incredible! The Chef de Village Youssef is incredibly welcoming and the head of ambience Amine was incredibly helpful in getting us situated and warm. The sound team Othman and Reda are incredible with their work and so incredibly kind. The bar was also incredibly well run and Anouk made the best drinks while Imad served up the vibes! Logan and Yousri are also incredibly attentive and made all the sports activities incredibly fun! Specials mentions to Mathieu from shop and Marco from the Riad, such hard workers.

Family Fun, Great Food, Needs Tender Loving Care

4/54/5 • 2025/06/22

Club Med Marrakech offers a fantastic family vacation! The beautiful architecture and expansive gardens create a stunning backdrop for your stay. There are abundant activities for all ages, and finding space was never an issue. Our boys absolutely loved the Teens Club, and despite not speaking French, Ahmed was absolutely amazing, ensuring they felt included and engaged in lots of sports like archery, golf, table tennis, and even trapeze. I personally enjoyed the Pilates and yoga sessions, which were really good. The food was consistently excellent and very diverse, with high-quality meat, making meal times a pleasure for everyone, including the kids. The staff, like Guadalupe, Momo, and especially those who looked after the kids (Ahmed) , were incredibly friendly and helpful, truly making a positive impact on our stay.

However, the resort is in clear need of maintenance. The public toilets were frequently out of order, and smelled bad. The levers to exit the older pool were almost falling off, posing a safety concern. Our initial room also had a significant mold problem in the shower. While the management team was excellent and immediately moved us to a much better, clean room, these issues shouldn't be present in the first place. There was also a noticeable lack of English-speaking staff at the reception.
The excursions were also a disappointment. They felt overpriced, and our city tour, which started with interesting visits to a palace and gardens, ended with the guide taking us to tacky, "back-door" tourist trap souvenir shops. This felt less like a cultural experience and more like a forced sales pitch. To make matters worse, the bus for this excursion had no air conditioning, which was incredibly uncomfortable in 40-degree heat.
Overall, despite some areas needing significant improvement, we had a wonderful time filled with great activities and delicious food. Our hope is that this feedback will help the management team enhance the guest experience even further.
