This was our first Club Med all-inclusive holiday with our baby, who is under two years old. We were very satisfied with the experience. Every department, including the reception, restaurant, bar, ski instructors, housekeeping, and entertainment, provided professional service and treated guests very friendly.
My husband and I took turns looking after our child, so we each opted for a two-hour one-on-one snowboard lesson. Before we headed to Tomamu, we had group lessons on an indoor ski machine in Taiwan, where we learned the C-turn.
I'd like to thank Marti, my ski instructor from the Netherlands. I had sustained a minor injury during a ski lesson the week before our trip and was worried about falling again. I explained my physical condition and concerns to her. She adjusted her teaching content in a timely manner, allowing me to enjoy skiing on the slopes and gradually forget my worries. She constantly gave me psychological support, saying, "You can do the C-turn, I know you can, you have to believe in yourself." Thanks to her encouragement, I completed the C-turn on the slopes during the third day's group lesson. Although I still don't quite understand how I managed it, I successfully overcame my fear of turning.
My last ski lesson was with Chris D., a ski instructor from the UK. His guidance was very meticulous and precise. He was able to break down complex movements into simple, easy-to-understand, and executable small segments, and he could point out a student's learning difficulties at a glance. He observed my skiing movements and asked about the difficulties I encountered. Then, he drew a large clock on the snow as an analogy, breaking down the C-turn into simple small steps and telling me that today's learning goal was to consciously complete the C-turn. He hoped I could accurately control the direction and rotation of my skiing. His teaching style was very interesting and engaging, and he could help students overcome learning bottlenecks.
Thank you, Coach Chris, you are an excellent ski instructor and talented teacher.
With the guidance and accompany of ski instructor Marti, my husband was able to progress as much as possible within a limited timeframe. On the second day of the course, he was able to ski on the green runs, completing full C-turns and S-turns all the way down. By the third day, he progressed to the blue runs, where he attempted more advanced manoeuvres such as box jumps and carving.
This was our very first time skiing on real snow, and we were both amazed that he could make such rapid progress with only two hours of lessons each day.
This trip brought many wonderful and vivid memories. My child, being under two, could not participate in the Petit Mini Club. My husband and I took turns accompanying our child to play in the snow, watch the John’s Live music show, see the night show, watch fireworks, and stroll around the Ice Village. The diverse and rich activities kept our child very entertained.
The staff were very respectful and friendly towards children.
. Ivo and Jam from the restaurant department got along very well with our child. During the restaurant's off-peak hours, our child would actively seek out the "aunties and uncles" to chat and stroll with them.
. Housekeeping staff temporarily came to help cleaning the bathroom that had accidentally been dirtied. Seeing that our child had just bathed and the heating was off, the gentleman kindly turned it on for us.
. Rodhi from the bar department enthusiastically greeted our child in the corridor. When they met again, he interacted with our child in a very kind and friendly manner.
. When ski instructor Cai was playing the piano, he kindly welcomed us to join. Cai listened to every note our child played and accompanied it with chords, as if improvising. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.
. Ski instructors Marti and Rodo played with our child like older siblings. We shared a very joyful dinner together.
For me, the most beautiful scenery of this trip was the Club Med staff. Thank you for your enthusiasm and friendliness. We had wonderful memories.
The hotel provides comprehensive parent-child facilities, all-day dining, and takeaway meal boxes, making it convenient for us to care for and accompany our child.
If you plan to travel with an infant during ski season, I think Club Med Tomamu would be a great choice.
Hope to meet again.
