Closer to the resort, in Samoëns, embrace the heritage of the Giffre Valley through local cheese, meats, wines and spirits tasting sessions, and visit one of the most famous markets in the Haute-Savoie region each Wednesday morning.

Hiking enthusiasts will be wowed by the amphitheatre-like Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval and its impressive waterfalls – numbering up to 30 in spring when the snow begins to melt. From Chamonix, take Europe’s highest cable car up to Aiguille du Midi for stunning views of Mont Blanc.

Serre-Chevalier

Just fifteen kilometres away is Briançon, a city of art and history boasting a UNESCO World Heritage-listed fortress, Fort des Salettes, designed by Vauban. The unspoiled mountain village of La Gave is a must-see with its narrow streets, stone buildings, and cable car that offers panoramic views.
