Discover Bali, a veritable tourist treasure trove

Bali is a tourist destination that has everything to please. The island, located in Indonesia, abounds in varied landscapes, between wild forests and rice fields, religious temples and intimate coves. Where to go in Bali and what are the places to visit during your trip?

STROLL ON THE JIMBARAN BEACH OR GO DIVING IN PEMUTERAN

The beaches in the south of the island (Kuta, Sanur, etc.) are by far the most beautiful. Among them is Jimbaran, a small fishing village not far from the airport. During your visit, don't miss the sale of fish at the local market, which you can also taste in the restaurants along the coast which offer traditional culinary specialities. In the evening, a walk along the beaches at nightfall is very pleasant.

The seabed intrigues you and you wonder where to go in Bali for diving? Don't miss Pemuteran Bay, in the far west of Bali, not far from the island of Java. Here you can see dozens of species of marine animals, including turtles and other sea stars. The coral is impressive and the richness of the reef will surprise many. But there is more surprising: underwater there is also a fully submerged temple, composed of statues and sculptures, covered with coral. An unusual monument not to be missed!

ADMIRE THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE BESAKIH TEMPLE

On the west side of the island is the Hinduist Temple of Besakih, a vast and majestic monument that stretches over an area that includes 86 religious elements. Considered to be the most important temple on the island, it is located at an altitude of some 1,000 metres and enjoys a superb viewpoint. A good climb and you can admire the architecture of the buildings.

Did you know?

With an average temperature of 26 degrees during the day, the climate in Bali is warm all year round. However, we recommend that you travel during the dry season, which runs from May to October. In June, the island is particularly pleasant, as the vegetation is abundant at the end of the rainy season.

WALK IN THE FOREST OF THE MONKEYS

Located towards Ubud, in the center of the island, the monkey forest of Bali is a must see. This protected place, nature reserve and sacred space, is one of the many green lungs of the island. You will be able to see monkeys of course, long-tailed macaques, but also more than a hundred different species of trees. The forest has three religious temples with original and colourful architecture. Finally, if you pass by the village of Ubud, take the opportunity to walk along the rice paddies and observe traditional dances.
