With turquoise waters and white sandy beaches bordered by palm trees or lush vegetation, Mauritius is the epitome of a tropical paradise. Are you ready for a relaxing break combined with enchanting discoveries?
A multi-cultural destination
The influence of India and China has enriched the local culture and gastronomy with their traditions. A visit to Port-Louis is a must during your Mauritius visit to discover its many facets.
Experience Mauritius’ multi-cultural past – from the Citadel built by the English, the Aapravasi Ghat, which welcomed the first migrant workers from India, to the ruins of the Dutch fort Frederik Hendrik. Then take a detour through the central market with its exotic colours, fragrances and flavours. The Château de La Bourdonnais is a magnificent colonial residence surrounded by a green park that will take you back in time.
Created in 1735, the first tropical garden in the world, the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden in Pamplemousses, will welcome you for an exciting visit within its 37 hectares. Explore ponds of water lilies, alleys of flamboyant Vacoas, and a hundred species of palm trees. The Chamarel rum distillery and the Rault biscuit factory are two gourmet discoveries to experience.

If you are lucky enough to visit Mauritius between mid-January and mid-February, you’ll have the opportunity to celebrate Chinese New Year. The beaches that await you
Start with 3km of fine sand on Trou aux Biches for a relaxing day under the filao trees. Then continue to the immaculate crescent of Mont Choisy, where the calm water resembles a swimming pool. Finally, for an unforgettable sunset, take advantage of the village of Flic-en-Flac and its beach in the west of Mauritius.
During your visit to Mauritius, make sure you venture below the surface of the lagoons to explore the splendour of the seabed. Whether in Flic-en-Flac with the noble silhouette of Mount Brabant in the distance or in the calm lagoon of Blue Bay, a veritable coral garden full of multicoloured fish awaits you off the coast of Mauritius.
