Want to learn tennis or practice your backhand? Then join a group session that matches your skills. Whatever the sport, you'll find a course that meets your requirements.
Put your faith in Club Med's G.O®s: famous for their training expertise and experience, they offer advice on the necessary kit and ways to improve your technique.
Club Med allows guests to bring their own equipment, but you can also hire top quality gear. As Christian Hilaire (Club Med Resort's Sports Expert) says: "We provide top quality materials as we know that our G.M®'s prefer to use brands that are famous for their expertise and premium quality. We have, for example, joined forces with Hobie Cat for their catamarans and Babolat for their tennis rackets."
The Sports Expert goes on to explain the importance of having sufficient facilities and equipment available: "With fleets ranging from 15 to 20 boats and courts that can cater for 50 to 80 players, rest assured that top quality equipment is always available, regardless of the Resort."
"A good tennis or golf player will always want to improve their skills, " continues Christian Hilaire. Club Med offers group beginner/refresher courses that can be included in your package. You can also book one-on-one courses for an extra cost.
If you plan to perfect your aces, opt for a resort with tennis courts such as the Club Med Cancun Yucatan and the Marrakech La Palmeraie Resorts. The tennis academy based at the Club Med Sandpiper Bay Resort is run by an ATP professional.
For golf fans, Christian Hilaire recommends the facilities in Opio in Provence (France), Da Balaia (Portugal), Bintan (Indonesia) and Agadir (Morocco).
For horse riding* there are the resorts at Vittel and La Palmyre. Whether you fancy a quiet trek or a good gallop, the choice is there.
Skiers and winter sports fans will love the resorts in the French, Swiss and Italian Alps, as well as the slopes in China, Japan and Canada.
If none of the above fit the bill, there are plenty of other resorts with land sport facilities. Enjoy some altitude with a summer climb up lush mountains in Europe and Asia. Get off the beaten track with some mountain biking. Explore natural landscapes and get some fresh air by going on hikes.
And, if you fancy some acrobatic wizardry, Club Med CREACTIVE by Cirque du Soleil will give you all the thrills you need. Circus activities take centre stage at Club Med Punta Cana and Opio: enter the ring under the watchful eyes of the G.C®s, (Gentils Circassiens) team, who all trained with Cirque du Soleil. Up your adrenalin on a flying trapeze, practise somersaults on a trampoline, enjoy the fluidity of aerial acrobatics, loop the loop as you bungee dance... Have a blast with your family.
Over a dozen Club Med Resorts offer water sports in exotic locations. Club Med's Sports Expert, Christian Hilaire, recommends La Palmyre Atlantique in France and Djerba La Douce in Tunisia for sailing. Both resorts have beautiful stretches of water with steady winds.
Dive* into the crystal-clear Caribbean waters around the Bahamas and Martinique. Book a stay at the Club Med Kani or the Les Villas de Finolhu Resorts and set off in search of stingrays, turtles and barracudas at Nassimo Thila in the Maldives. Are you a thrill seeker? Put on some water skis and slalom your way around the Club Med Gregolimano Resort in Greece. Try wakeboarding at the Club Med de Rio Das Pedras Resort in Brazil.
You can also head out on kayaks and stand up paddle boards to explore the calm seas and rivers that surround Club Med Resorts.
